Little Cabbage Baby Products

I recently had the opportunity to do a product shoot for an old roommate and friend of mine.  Rachel is the owner of 'Little Cabbage Baby Products".  She designs, makes and sells baby teething mittens.  Her website explains the purpose of teething mittens as being "great for any child who drools, bites their fingers, or is teething. They will keep your child's hands dry and warm as they go through these various developmental processes. They also help your child to be more aware of their hands and mouth while also promoting texture exploration."  

For the photo shoot she sent me a few of the mittens and they really are great.  Recently my 4 month old daughter has become a serious hand sucker and these mitts are perfect because they keep her little hands dry so they don't get chapped.

365 Day Project

First off I want to start out by explaining what the 365 Day Project is.  Most simply put, it means taking and editing at least one picture every day for 365 days.

I love photography but I do not do photo shoots everyday.  In fact sometimes I get out of the habit of taking photos and I go long stretches of time without even taking my camera out of the bag.  Not only does that mean I'm not improving my skills that day, but it also means I have missed so many moments and opportunities to photograph.

There are many many instances where I will think to myself, "I wish I had my camera so I can remember this moment forever."  But more often then not, I don't have it with me.  Since starting this project, that has changed.

Now I pretty much bring my camera everywhere I go.  It can be difficult, yes.  You'll see me chasing my two year old while holding my 3 month old carrying the diaper bag and now hauling my camera case as well.  But it's worth it.

When I first decided to take on this challenge I pictured myself being super creative everyday with lots of props and setting up and extreme post processing.  Since starting, my idea of this project has changed.  Although there will be photos like that, a majority of my pictures have ended up being the little things that happen day to day, moments that I want to remember forever.  The good and the bad.

I challenge myself by trying to be creative with lighting, unique angles, and other things like that.

I will not be posting all 365 photos that I take, but I will share several.  I started this project on April 1st so I'm just barely over a month into it.  I'm excited to see what will come of this and to see how it will improve both my photography and editing!

Jaxton's 2 1/2

I can't believe how fast my little man is growing!  I never got around to taking his 2 year old photos but here he is at 2 and a half.  Last fall we moved to Santaquin and it's been fun finding new photo shoot locations.  When I found these two spots I knew without a doubt that I wanted to do a shoot there.  They are so fun and rustic!  I'm sure it won't be the last time I use them either!

Jax loves his stuffed animals and has to sleep with all of them every night so I took this cute picture of him and his animals!  I love how it turned out!

Mike and Tiffany Bridal Shoot

These are some of my favorite people, Mike and Tiffany.  Although they got married a few years ago they didn't get many pictures taken on their wedding day.  So they asked me to do a little bridal session with them.  We went to several locations and each one had it's own fun unique look.  I took these back in May and am slow getting them on here, but it was such a great shoot that I still wanted to post some of the pictures.  These two are so fun and easy to photograph!

Cambria

It's been awhile since I've posted on here.  Between my pregnancy, buying a home and moving, and all of the holidays, it's been crazy the last several months.  But I'm back, and what better way then to show the newest addition to our family…introducing Cambria!
